The theme for Conversation Day 2020 was Sharing What We’re Learning.

The day kicked off with a lively discussion of the topic, What can replace a hug?
Journalist Sterling Henderson guided our participants – entertainer Nikki Crosby, designer/band leader Valmiki Maharaj and media personality Natacha Jones.
The importance of freedom of speech was one of the key points of discussion in the topic, Which civil liberties are you uncomfortable giving up? Broadcaster Soyini Grey led participants – writer Janine Mendes-Franco, poet/performer Kyle Hernandez and student Jewel Massiah.
Technological improvement was the focus of the discussion, Will Covid make us “smarter”? TGM co-founder Franka Philip guided development strategist Teocah Dove, neuroinnovator Kheston Walkins and attorney/visual artist Rhyjell Ellis.
Not all heroes wear capes but photographer/tech journalist Mark Lyndersay, poet/educator Zahra Gordon and journalist Lasana Liburd were clear how their chosen heroes would respond to the times as they discussed, What would (insert hero here do)? This discussion was guided by writer Ira Mathur.
Trust in government, and employers were brought to the fore during the Covid-19 crisis, but in general, key relationships were tested. The topic How important has the issue of trust become? was discussed by geologist/event professional Frances Hanson-Lewis, consulting psychologist Daryl Joseph and entrepreneur Anthony Bisnath and guided by journalist Faine Richards.
Not just Covid-19 but important issues of race relations must be baffling for our young people. Nicole Duke-Westfield, the mother of a teenaged boy spoke with fellow parents Appiah Attzs, Brent Barry and Floyd Solomon about the topic How have you been discussing today’s issues with your children?
Conversation Day TT 2020 ended with a discussion of existential issues with the topic,
What answers have you found in this time to life’s questions? TGM co-founder Ardene Sirjoo guided author/entrepreneur Akosua Edwards, chartered accountant Anthony Pierre and musician Mungal Patasar in this discussion.
